Michael Alan White

Mike White, 39, of Glenwood Springs, died on Saturday, June 18, in a vehicular accident. He and his best friend, Steve Owens, of Carbondale, went off the Red Canyon Road.Mike was born in Loma Linda, Calif., the first of four children born to Karin and Richard White. Mike and his family moved to Glenwood Springs in 1979, and he graduated from Glenwood Springs High School in 1984. Mike worked for Soaking Wet Sprinklers as an installer. He was an excellent craftsman. He enjoyed his family, hunting, fishing and camping, and he had a wonderful sense of humor.Michael is survived by his parents, Richard and Karin White; son, Austin, of Bucyrus, Ohio; sisters Debbie White, of Grand Junction, Chereyl Owens, of New Castle, and Holly Rosengren, of Bensalem, Pa.; aunt JoEllen White, of Glenwood Springs; cousins Sue and Gene Yellico, of Glenwood Springs, and Frank and Carol Oyster, of Gunnison.A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Friday at Kiwanis Park for close family and friends. In Mike’s memory, contributions for his son Austin’s college fund may be sent to Alpine Bank, or a local charity of your choice.
