Michael Silberberg

Michael Silberberg, 62, of Carbondale and New York, died Friday, Oct. 25, 2002, while running on Prince Creek Road in Carbondale.A long-time competitive runner, he had competed since his high school days and ran in numerous events, including the New York Marathon.He was a partner in the New York law firm of Morvillo, Abramowitz, Grand, Iason & Silberberg, where he practiced civil litigation. He passed the Colorado bar in April this year and planned to practice law in both Colorado and New York.Mr. Silberberg’s grandmother, Sarah Cousins, lived in Aspen from 1952 to 1956. He had skied in and visited the Aspen area since the late 1970s and moved to Los Adobes in Carbondale in December 2000.A funeral service will be held at Prince of Peace Chapel at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 29. A memorial service will be held in Manhattan at a time yet to be announced.He is survived by his wife, Randi Lowenthal of Carbondale; and daughter, Dana Silberberg, and brother, Bob Silberberg, both of New York City.Donations in memory Mr. Silberberg can be sent to: Sara C.
