Injury crash on Midland Avenue redirects traffic Monday

A two-vehicle injury accident on Midland Avenue at the east end of Glenwood Meadows late Monday afternoon sent two people to the hospital and caused traffic to be re-routed for about an hour, according to Glenwood Springs Police.

The accident happened a little before 5 p.m. Monday just below the Petco store on Midland when the driver of a pickup truck who had been parked on the shoulder decided to pull out to make a u-turn in front of an eastbound passenger car, according to Police Chief Terry Wilson.

The accident was cleared by a little before 6 p.m., but traffic was re-routed onto Wulfsohn Road in both directions while the scene was being cleared, he said.

The drivers of both vehicles were taken to Valley View Hospital with undisclosed injuries.
