‘Midnight Crooner’ to benefit Center for Arts

The Glenwood Springs Center for the Arts presents Rock the Boat Comedy Theater’s “Midnight Crooner” at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

The show, starring Gordon Flowers, Jeff Marshall, Lindsey Mills, Paul Hamilton, Emily Cochran, Melissa Malloy and Rhonda Bynum, is set in a lounge that has fallen on hard times. Owner Mickey Brewski invites Louie Kruner, known as the Midnight Crooner, to perform in hopes of drumming up business.

Proceeds benefit the Center for the Arts year-round programming. Tickets are $14 for members and $18 for nonmembers. Reserve seats early by calling 945-2414.

Rhonda Bynum started Rock the Boat Theater in 2004 in Marietta, Ga., to develop a nationally recognized, dinner theater company. Rock the Boat later expanded to Glenwood, with performances at the Ramada and Sacred Grounds Coffeehouse.
