ASPEN, Colorado ” An Aspen High School junior was located Thursday afternoon and was expected to be returned to her family later in the day, the Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office said.

Vanessa Herron, 16, was found in the area of the Aspen Business Center at about 12:20 p.m., said Pitkin County Sheriff Patrol Director Jeff Lumsden.

“Everything is OK,” he said.

An advertisement was placed in the Post Independent on Thursday seeking information on the teen’s whereabouts. The ad said that she was last seen in Glenwood Springs.

A family member reported the girl as a runaway earlier this week.
