ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK, Colo. (AP) ” Rescuers say they found two backpackers who’ve been missing since Monday in a rugged area north of Rocky Mountain National Park.

Larimer County sheriff’s spokeswoman Kathy Messick says Terry and Marion Jones were tired but in good condition when ground crews reached them.

Searchers in a Civil Air Patrol plane spotted them on the ground Thursday morning, waving at the aircraft. A fire was burning nearby.

Rescuers have been hunting for the couple since they failed to return to their Fort Collins home Sunday as planned.

Their son had dropped them off in the northern part of the park Saturday.

They are experienced backpackers. Terry Jones is 56 and Marion Jones is 49.
