Money talks, government walks
Dear Editor,
Did it ever cross the mind of anyone that with 20,000 lobbyists in Washington, we now have the most “money talks” controlled government in the world, if not in all of history? To call it democracy anymore is little more than an obscenity.
Perhaps we could get out of the entire Iraqi debacle, and perhaps our own debacle, by simply offering Saddam his $25 million bounty money, and then have him come over and help get us out of our highly disgraceful “government by lobby” situation. After all, Iraq had only one person in control, and he did get things done ” good or bad.
How did we ever manage to go from a country of mostly good politicians to a country of mostly gutless lobby-paid puppets?
Frustrated,
Paul Scott
