Montrose explosion involved $100 drug debt

MONTROSE ” An explosion Oct. 10 about two blocks from the town’s high school involved a dispute over a $100 drug debt.

Timothy Holley, 28, was served with an arrest warrant Tuesday on a felony charge of possession, use or removal of explosives or an incendiary device and misdemeanor offense of criminal mischief.

“This was revenge, basically,” Montrose Police Chief Tom Chinn said.

No injuries were reported in the explosion on the back of a truck.

Cmdr. Gene Lillard said Holley was in jail on another charge when he was served with the arrest affidavit. Lillard said the debt involved methamphetamine.
