MOPS thanks True Value
They say “Nothing is free.” Well, that’s not always the case. Over Mother’s Day weekend, the Glenwood True Value Hardware gave Sopris MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) something for free that will make a huge difference in our organization’s efforts next year.
True Value offered to let us run the hot dog stand in front of the store on Saturday during its annual spring sale. All we had to do was show up to cook and sell the hot dogs, and we were able to keep all of the proceeds. We didn’t have to buy the food, condiments or refreshments. The hardware store donated all of those items so we could raise money for our group’s activities. The store does this during the summer for groups like ours trying to raise a little money. And, it’s truly wonderful. Thank you for providing us such a great fund-raising opportunity.
We’d also like to thank the Glenwood Springs Post Independent for running our announcements. Not only do you print our meeting schedule so we can help more mothers of preschoolers be the best moms they can be, but you allow us to publicly thank community organizations that make this area a better place to live and raise our families. It’s a community service you graciously provide free of charge. Many newspapers wouldn’t donate the cost of the ink or paper to do so, much less give up the space. We want you to know we really appreciate it.
