More demonizing of Glenwood mascot

Brenda Kenney

Dear Editor,

Thank you for your letter, Susan Tribble!

Yes! I agree! A new mascot for Glenwood Springs High School is long overdue. The tradition of referring to our very talented and accomplished teenagers (and the alumni) as Demons is contradictory and unsettling. Traditions that trespass upon our ability to learn and grow in ways consistent with our dreams and goals are not worthy of consideration. Sometimes when something is considered to be traditional it signifies that a change is in order.

I encourage the student body at Glenwood Springs High School to entertain the idea of electing a new mascot.
