Dear Editor,

Update! This just in. Not only has Saddam Hussein arrived to the Roaring Fork Valley as reported by Terry Fattor in the Thursday edition of the Pravda Independent, but it has been learned that the now former Iraqi Information Minister Muhammed Saeed al-Sahhaf, also know as “Baghdad Bob,” apparently has sent his assistant to the area.

His assistant, known to the locals as “Baghdad Sue,” is a staunch defender of the former Iraqi dictator, Saddam Hussein. She states, “Saddam’s reputation as evil oppressor is exaggerated.”

When asked to comment on this news, the local leader of the “Vast Right Wing Conspiracy,” Mr. Doug Meyers, was said to be ecstatic about her being a member of the community.

He stated, “If she will continue to write letters to the editor, and Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon will continue to make their outrageous statements, the re-election of President George W. Bush is virtually guaranteed.”

Mr. Meyers also stated that “the soon to be second-term president will be granted a greater majority of Republicans in the House and the Senate, thanks to Baghdad Sue, Tim and Susan.”

With a smile on his face and a song in his heart he stated, “Keep up the good work, gang!”

P.S. The tanks are not in Baghdad!

Yours truly,

Douglas J. Meyers
