Most of Glenwood Canyon path to reopen Thursday

Staff Report
Glenwood Springs, CO Colorado

GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colorado ” Crews plan to reopen most of the path through Glenwood Canyon Thursday.

The Colorado Department of Transportation initially opened the Glenwood Canyon Bike Path for the season on April 5, but had to close it again on May 20 due to high water between the Shoshone Power Plant and Hanging Lake Rest Area.

In a news release, CDOT said crews will reopen the path Thursday but will need to keep the section between Grizzly Creek Rest Area and the Hanging Lake Rest Area closed until fence repairs are complete. Approximately 100 feet of fence was either washed away or damaged with recent high waters.
