Mother on Front Range denies prostitution charges

HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colorado – A suburban mother accused of running a prostitution business from her house while her children were there vehemently denied the charges.

Sheri Sims, 39, was arrested Thursday on suspicion of prostitution and two counts of child abuse, all of which are misdemeanors. Sims, who’s free on bail, on Monday told television station KDVR that she operates three businesses out of her house ” wedding and event planning, manicures and pedicures, and she’s a licensed massage therapist.

“There’s nothing illegal going on in my house,” she told the station. “As far as I’m concerned, I’m a single parent taking care of three kids.”

Douglas County sheriff’s Deputy Chad Teller said neighbors called to complain about the number of cars visiting the house and an undercover police officer who went there was solicited for prostitution.
