Cheneys celebrate 50 years

Larry and Joan Cheney celebrate 50 years together today, Thursday, Aug. 21. They have three sons, seven grandchildren, and many other people who cherish them. They have lived in the Valley for many years, and hope to be here for many more. Their whole family far and near would like to wish them a happy anniversary.

Coal Seam footage sought

We got an unusual request from the Forest Service this week. Here’s what they have to say.

“Darlow Smithson, a London production company, is working on a documentary about wildfires and is particularly interested in footage of the Coal Seam Fire which occurred last summer.

The company contacted the Forest Service and the Bureau of Land Management, but the agencies could not provide footage. If anyone has video of the fire and is interested in providing it to Darlow Smithson, please contact Sandra Whipham, Darlow Smithson Productions, Highgate Business Centre, 33 Greenwood Place, London NW5 1LB, telephone: 011 44 (0) 20 7482 7027 (switchboard), 011 44 (0) 20 7482 9644 (direct).”
