Mountain Mailbag

Edited by Donna Daniels

It could be you!

Picture yourself in a sequin-spangled gown (guys, you don’t have to participate!), a jeweled crown and an armload of roses. Yes, you could be the next Mrs. Glenwood Springs.

To qualify, you have to be married, at least 18 years old, a U. S. citizen and must live or work in Glenwood.

Mrs. Glenwood Springs will compete for the coveted title of Mrs. Colorado May 22 in Denver. And you don’t have to be talented. We’d guess you do have to be cute. Mrs. Colorado wins a trip to Hawaii to compete in the Mrs. America Pageant.

Information: http://www.mrscolorado.com or Tricia, 303-904-3709.

New baby

Tonya and Thad Nieslanik and older brother Chase of Glenwood Springs welcomed Blake James Nieslanik Sept. 5.

He weighed seven pounds, eight ounces and was 20 inches long. His grandparents are Lee Green and Jim and Sharon Nieslanik, all of Glenwood Springs.

The Community pages are your pages in the Post Independent. We rely on readers to contribute news and photos to make these pages lively. They appear Tuesday through Sunday.

“Postings” is the place for news of events, meetings and programs that people living in the Roaring Fork and Colorado River valleys should know about. “Mountain Mailbag” is the place for news about people: births, engagements, weddings, anniversaries, vacations, pets, and goofy stuff. All are edited by Donna Daniels and published for free.

E-mail your item to ddaniels@postindependent.com, mail or deliver a crisp copy to the newsroom at 2014 Grand Ave., Glenwood Springs, CO 81601 or fax it to 945-4487.
