Mr. President, listen!

Dear Editor,

I want to thank and congratulate Patricia Fender for speaking out against our so-called “pre-emptive strike” against Iraq. No one can dismiss her arguments, and I would like to add that American soldiers are still dying in Afghanistan, and wives and mothers of our forces stationed in Afghanistan still face the death of their loved ones daily.

As far as Iraq possessing weapons of mass destruction, are they the only ones? Don’t we?

I suppose we consider ourselves the only ones who can handle them responsibly.

What about Pakistan, North Korea, India, etc.?

The people of Iraq are still being bombed daily, and have suffered through two wars in the last 20 years, and do not deserve to die for an irresponsible despot. Neither do our young men and women deserve to be put in harm’s way.

Vietnam veterans, Gulf War veterans, World War II veterans, speak out and do not let another generation suffer your fate.

And, Mr. President, a war is not a responsible way to get the economy back on track.
