Natural Law candidate says time for change

Dear Editor,

As the Democrats and Republicans sling mud at one another, remember that there is an alternative candidate who represents a quantum leap away from the corporate control over the mainstream parties, which together are spending over $50,000 for their election bid versus $100 by the Natural Law Party District 61 State Representative candidate.

Dr. Abba Krieger stands for an opportunity to express dissatisfaction with the status quo, the party that said “health and education representing 80 percent of the state budget is untouchable.” People of District 61: that is $11 billion! Untouchable. Well, that needs to change.

My focus since earning my masters in public health at the University of Northern Colorado is public health and environmental health. From that comes my viewpoints of preventative health care, green space preservation, immigration control, affordable housing, public transportation and bike paths, mandatory labeling and safety testing of genetically modified foods and sustainable energy, agriculture, and economics, and no war.

The incumbent is proud of his dealings with chronic wasting disease but his actions demonstrate an unawareness of public safety. Instead of having a voluntary testing for CWD costing an additional $17, this fee should have been added to every license, the test made mandatory and free, and then if some numskull medical doctor feels that the test is unnecessary, then he can elect not to have his game tested. That is as stupid as unprotected sex.

Public safety needs to come first. What if CWD is transferred to cows and we develop mad cow disease in Colorado? That would be a disaster.

We need to break away from the inertia of the republicrats. We need to address fundamental systemic change in our health care system, educational system and in our foreign policy system.

We need to put an end to unregulated corporate globalization and corporate unaccountability and special interest control of our political leaders including our state republican and democratic candidates who attended numerous special interest meetings from which I was excluded.

It is time for a change. Vote your conscience.

Namaste – I recognize the god and goddess within you.

Abba Krieger
