Nellie O. Stark
Nellie O. Stark, 77, of New Castle, passed away May 20, 2008, at E. Dene Moore Care Center in Rifle.Nellie was born Oct. 29, 1930, in Gunnison, to John and Helen (Pierce) Steele. She was a cheerleader at New Castle High School where she graduated, and then worked as a caregiver for most of her life. She is survived by son Stanley Van Hopkins of Littleton; daughter Jackie (Clifford) Morgan of Rifle; sisters Jeanie Hoffmeister, Ann Petrocco, Mickey Ridgeway, Karen Mall and Sharon Kukla; grandchildren Wyland Hopkins, Cody Hopkins, Shawn (Matt) Duffy and Stacy (Jennifer) Castor; and great-grandchildren Hailey Castor, Braedon Castor and Maybre Castor.Nellie was preceded in death by her first husband, Jack Hopkins; her second husband, Bob Stark; daughter Shannon Gail Hopkins; son Gary Wayne Hopkins; granddaughter Toni Shay Castor; and brother Jack Steele.Cremation has taken place, and no services are planned at this time.
