Nighttime detour set in north Glenwood
The intersection of West Sixth and Laurel streets will be closed beginning tonight from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. A detour through the north Glenwood neighborhood will be in place in the evenings for approximately four nights.
The detour is necessary for a main waterline project at the intersection of West Sixth and Laurel.
Westbound traffic wishing to access West Glenwood from Sixth Street will follow detour signs through Maple Street and Linden Street to access U.S. 6.
West Glenwood traffic heading east will detour from U.S. 6 to Linden and Laurel to access Highway 82 and downtown Glenwood.
This detour is for local traffic only, and no truck traffic will be permitted through the neighborhood. Pedestrian access will be maintained on North Sixth Street sidewalk.
Interstate 70’s Exit 116, the main Glenwood exit, will remain open.
