Ninth Judicial District judge results see incumbent narrowly retained
Ninth Judicial District Judge Angela M. Roff continues to stay on track to potentially retain her position as Garfield County election results continue to come in.
As of 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, Roff, who was appointed by Gov. Jared Polis in 2022, currently holds 11,959 of 23,585 (50.7%) ballots cast in favor of her retention.
Roff’s performance was recently evaluated by the Colorado Office of Judicial Performance Evaluation, which found her meeting high standards in integrity and impartiality but falling short in legal knowledge and administrative skills. The evaluation commission, in a 4-3 vote, determined she did not fully meet state standards for judges. She was the only judge to not meet state standards in Colorado.
Editor’s Note: Final results were not available by the Post Independent’s print deadline. Results will be updated online Wednesday.
Roff’s legal background includes serving as a judge advocate with the U.S. Air Force and as an attorney in private practice. Locally, she has worked as a contract prosecutor and a hearing officer in Glenwood Springs. The final decision on her retention awaits the completion of ballot counting.
Results are unofficial and are subject to change. The Post Independent will continue to update poll results.
