Anna D. Wheelock (July 8, 1927 — May 17, 2017)

Anna Wheelock, who had resided in McHenry, IL, and Glenwood Springs, CO, died on May 17, 2017, in Orlando, FL.
Born in 1927 to Peter and Gladys Regas in Chicago, IL. She had five siblings: Christ, Gus, George, Mary and Stella.
Married to Philip Wheelock in 1962. Anna raised their family on a farm in McHenry, which is now the Glacier Ridge subdivision.
Anna is known for her volunteerism and political activism. She is also known for her skiing and hiking the Rockies as a member of the Glenwood Springs 100 Club well into her senior years.
Anna is survived by her sister, Stella (Regas) Grafe and her brother, George Regas, her children, Mona (Wheelock) Sparks, Jeff and Dana Wheelock, Lark (Wheelock) Syrris, and several grandchildren. She is also survived by Arnfinn Stokkan who joined the family as an AFS foreign exchange student in 1968.
There will be a celebration of Anna’s life in the fall in Colorado. Donations in honor of Anna Wheelock can be made to the Sierra Club or to the Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation.
