Bettie Jean Hatch Evenson

Bettie died peacefully in the early morning hours of July 7th. Although she spent the final months of her life as a resident of E. Dene Moore Care Center, she had been a resident of Battlement Mesa for the past 17 years. Born in Regina, New Mexico, she was the mother of 3 sons and a daughter and the beloved wife of Garry Evenson for the past 35 years. Known as the “Craft Lady” at the Thornton Wal-Mart, she was a prolific maker of quilts and dolls and was known for the 100’s of Christmas and birthday cards she mailed each year due to the fact that she never met a stranger! Friends are invited to join the family for a celebration of Bettie’s life on Wednesday, July 22, at 1PM at the Rifle Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in Bettie’s memory to E Dene Moore at 701 E 5th St., Rifle 81650 or Hospice of the Valley, 1901 Grand Ave. #206, Glenwood Springs 81601.
