STEVENSVILLE — Carl John Midland Jr., 77, passed away peacefully in the company of family and friends on Sunday, May 1, 2016, at St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula, MT. He was born on July 29, 1938, in Chicago, IL, to the late Carl John Midland Sr. and Alice Weldon Midland. Carl is survived by his daughter Kelly Ann Lindsey of Austin, TX; daughter and son-in-law Carolyn Midland Valdez and Juan Augusto Valdez of Denver, CO; four grandchildren, Hunter, Elise, Sebastian and Catalina; and his sister Marcia Hayes of Mt. Prospect, IL.

Carl was preceded in death by his siblings, Richard Midland and Joanne Bender, and his children Theresa Midland and Carl John Midland, III. Carl was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a landscape contractor and owned and operated Midland Landscape, Inc., in Illinois and Colorado. He loved nature and spent much time outside and in the garden. Everyone loved Carl and he brought a smile to everyone he met.

A burial service will be held for Carl at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Stevensville on Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to the Council on Aging, 310 Old Corvallis Rd., Hamilton, MT 59840. Phone: (406) 363-5690.
