Caroline Haas

Caroline Haas, 94, of Rifle, Colorado, passed away on August 26, 2014, in Grand Junction. Caroline was born on August 28, 1919, to Jacob and Amelia Haberman in Lusk, Wyoming. She married Jake Haas on May 6, 1937. They had a daughter, Rosalie.

Caroline was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Rifle, Colorado. She loved to cook and bake and enjoyed baking pies for the church bazaar.

Caroline is survived by her daughter, Rosalie “Rosie” Shaw and her husband Don of Rifle; a grandchild; a great-grandchild; and a brother, Fred Haberman.

Caroline was preceded in death by her husband, Jake; her parents; and nine siblings.

A viewing will take place Friday, August 29, 2014, from 6- 7:30 p.m. at the Rifle Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, August 30, 2014, at 10 a.m. at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Rifle, Colorado. Burial will take place at Rose Hill Cemetery in Rifle, followed by a luncheon at Emmanuel Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
