Claudia Simons Beattie

Claudia Simons Beattie, 61, of Rifle passed away on Nov. 9, 2013. She died at home, surrounded by her husband of 39 years (Kirk “Doc”), daughter Heather, son Jon and his girlfriend Katie, and brother James. She is survived by her mother, four siblings, and her blessed grandkids, Tristen, Logen, and Claudia Rose.

Claudia was a practicing CPA for the past 20-plus years. The last 8 years she practiced in Rifle. Claudia was a respected CPA and she loved tax work.

We will remember Claudia’s positive outlook on life. She looked at the glass as half-full rather than half-empty. She was kind, caring, and compassionate. She had great faith in people and in their inherent honesty and integrity. She put others, particularly her husband, kids, and grandkids, ahead of herself.

We will remember Claudia for her beautiful smile and wonderful laugh. Claudia had many interests. She loved watching the Broncos and the Avs. She loved needle-pointing angels. She loved golfing, fishing, hunting, camping, traveling in her motorhome, taking cruises, and being with friends and family. She cherished her grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, Nov. 15 at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Glenwood Springs. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of the Valley or Advocate Safehouse.
