Conrad Cerise

Lifelong valley resident Conrad “Buddy” Cerise passed away suddenly on March 5. He was 79 years old. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lavania; two children, Penney Mautz of Olathe and Rory (Lucy) Cerise of Basalt; two grandsons, Kirt (Deanna) Mautz of Olathe and Keith (Holly) Mautz of Austin; and three great-granddaughters, Kaylee, Macy and Eva. He ranched and farmed in the Emma area his entire life. He raised potatoes, cattle, hay and grain and kept the valley green his whole life. He loved to hunt and fish, but his true passion was collecting. Buddy collected many things from pocket watches to John Deere tractors and Studebaker cars. He loved to go to auctions not so much to buy something as to talk and be with people who were his friends. A memorial service will be held at Farnum-Holt funeral home at 10 O’clock on March 12.
