Darlene Kay Raymond

Darlene was many things: daughter, sister, Mom, aunt, cousin, Weeki Wachee Mermaid hopeful, poet, gypsy in the palace, berry picker, joyful dancer, soccer and Elvis fan, executive housekeeper, clamshell decorator, original snow packer from the 60s, Camp Lake Swing Show star, snow and water skier, animal lover, enthusiastic audience member, pie baker, one who lived the true Rocky Mountain High life, Green Machine driver, self-taught medical expert, sender of love and light, Canasta partner, nature lover, Deer Hill view fan, fierce croquet player, fireworks fanatic, martial artist, hiking buddy, painter, collector, grateful recipient of all life had to give, and true friend. As someone who powdered her face with sunshine, Darlene lived life her own way and hoped that her passing would be seen as a new beginning and a time of personal growth for everyone. She wished that everyone would make peace with each other and remember her life as one that was long, rich, and fun-filled. For ALL of this, she gave thanks to God.

A Celebration of Darlene’s Life will take place at St. Mary’s of the Crown, 397 White Hill Road, Carbondale, Colorado, on July 30, 2015 at 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Darlene’s name to National Jewish Health, 1400 Jackson Street, Denver, CO 80206, for ILD research. Please state ILD Research when donating.
