Donald Arno Price

Donald Price, 94, a longtime resident of Glenwood Springs, passed away February 19, 2015, at Willow Tree Care Center in Delta, CO.

Don was born June 5, 1920, in Fruitvale, CO, to Gaines and Judith Price. After attending Mesa College, he served as a flight instructor in the US Air Force. He married Louise MacTavish of Glenwood on June 28, 1942. He later worked as a brakeman on the Rio Grande Railroad. To spend more time with his family, he began working as a refrigeration repairman. He owned Price Refrigeration until he retired.

Don spent much time with his beloved family camping and fishing in the mountains of the surrounding area. He also loved sharing the hope of his faith as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses with others since 1947.

Don is survived by his daughters, Bonny Sandifer of Montrose, CO, and Vicky Tidwell of Delta, CO. He also has 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. His sister, Marguerite Pierce, 100, lives in Durango, CO. He was preceded in death by his 3 brothers, his wife, Louise, and his daughter, Donna Barnhart. He was much loved and will be missed.
