Edward Carroll Murphy

Edward Carroll Murphy, 83, of Battlement Mesa, CO, was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather. He joined our Heavenly Father on April 12, 2014.

Edward was born in Denver, CO on July 30, 1930 to John and Eva Murphy. Edward was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Martin Murphy.

Edward proudly served in the United States Navy on the U.S.S. Luzon for four years and was honorably discharged in 1953. Edward spent most of his Navy career as well as his working life as a machinist and for many years, ran his own machine shop (ECM Machining) in Westminster, CO.

Edward married the love of his life, Patricia Joan Carroll on May 10,1958. Together they raised a beautiful family with six children, Kathleen Miller (Hal Winchester) of Arvada, CO, Rosemary Fraser (Frank) of Rifle, CO, Marlene Horne (Jim) of Brighton,CO, John Murphy (Lisa) of Thornton,CO, Joseph Murphy (Stacey) of Greeley, CO and Eileen Chavez of Westminster, CO. They were also blessed with 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A funeral mass to celebrate Edward’s life will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at the Mount Olivet Chapel in Wheatridge, CO at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery. There will be a reception following at the Westminster Elks Lodge 2227, where Edward was a lifetime member.
