Gene Dunn

Gene Dunn, of Silt, passed away October 7, 2015 at home surrounded by his family. Gene was born at his grandparents’ home on Divide Creek to Howard and Arvilla Dunn. He is survived by his wife, Beth; daughters, Karen (Gary) of Elko, NV; Jennifer Shepard (Ronnie Aldrich) of Silt; grandson, Tyler Dunn of Rifle; granddaughters, Audrina and Alyssa Shepard of Coeur d’Alene, ID; sister, Carmen Wood of Grand Junction; brother-in-law, Doug Sours of Rifle; sister and brother-in-law, Pauline and Gary Haas of Silt, and nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his son, Gregg Dunn; parents, Howard and Arvilla Dunn, and brother-in-law, Harry Wood. Gene attended Fairview school and Rifle High school and joined the Army during the Korean War from 1952-1954. He came home and worked construction most of his life. He married Beth Sours in 1959 and they were married 56 years.

Services will be held at the Rifle Funeral Home Monday, October 12th at 11:00 a.m. A celebration of life and reception will follow at the Ute Theater and Events Center in Rifle. Please make any donations to Hospice of the Valley, 1901 Grand Ave. St. 206 in Glenwood Springs.
