In Remembrance: Robert “Nick” Shroyer and Lila B. Erickson Shroyer
2/20/1936 – 12/16/2013
Nick Shroyer and Lila Shroyer were reunited on Monday, December 16, 2013, when Lila Shroyer lost her battle with pancreatic cancer at the family home in Rifle. Nick preceded his wife of 57 years on September 12, 2013, when he lost his fight with a sudden illness in Denver. The couple were married in Silt on March 2, 1957. They resided in Rifle where they raised their four children, Carnet (Joseph) Trujillo, Robert (Carrie) Shroyer, Destrie Shroyer (who preceded both parents in death), and Lorrie Raffensperger. They were always known to have a loving family and there was always food a plenty. A testament of Lila’s love of cooking. They moved to Craig, for several years where Nick drove for IBC. After retirement they chose Grand Junction to make their home, where they lived for many years. We would like to thank all who offered kind words, cards and prayers through this time. Dad and mom requested cremation and no services as they wanted friends and family not to remember them solemnly, or by the services, but for the people they were and the lives they led, described by all who knew and loved them, as kind, caring, giving and loving people. Until we meet again, we love you enough and then some.
