Irene M. Tripp

Irene M. Tripp, 90, longtime Carbondale resident, passed away Friday, February 5th, 2016, in Carbondale. Irene was born May 14, 1925, in Denver to Chauncey and Mary Walker. Irene enjoyed camping and skiing with her family in the Colorado Rockies, and traveling with her husband, John, where they visited all seven continents. She also loved animals, and the view of Mt. Sopris from the deck of the home she and John built. Irene is survived by John, her husband for 72 years; daughter Judy (Jim) Briscoe of Paonia; sons Jon of Paonia, Larry of Basalt, and Bill (Jill) of Durango, Colorado; brother Jerry of Portland, Oregon, seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the charity of your choice. A private family service will be held at a later date.
