Jack Mathias (Sep. 15, 1936 – June 30, 2017)

Jack Mathias was born in Denver on September 15, 1936, and died June 30, 2017. Jack grew up in north Denver and moved to the valley in 1977.

Jack worked as a coal miner in the valley and then at worked at the Roaring Fork High School from where he retired.

Jack leaves his wife Earlene, his two daughters Tammy Mathias of Lakewood, Colorado, and Jackie (Doug) Brinton of Arvada, Colorado, along with four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A celebration of his life will be held Sunday, July 2, 2017, at 1PM. The Celebration of Jack’s Life will be at 0108 Crystal Circle, Carbondale, Colorado. This is 8.4 miles south of the Carbondale roundabout on Highway 133.
