Jesse James Beckius

Jesse James Beckius 26, of Glenwood Springs, Colorado, passed away July 29, 2013. Jesse was born July 26, 1987, to John and Wendy Beckius in Glenwood Springs, Colorado.
Jesse was an enthusiastic outdoorsman who loved spending time hunting, hiking, riding his motorcycle, and almost anything else that allowed him to be outside in Colorado. He graduated from Glenwood Springs High School in 2005 before entering the Marine Corps in 2006. During his four years of active duty he achieved the rank of Corporal and served two tours in Iraq. After returning to civilian life he attended a year of classes at Mesa State College then became a contractor and worked for Lockheed Martin in Afghanistan.
Jesse is survived by his parents, brothers Cody, Shane, and Joe Beckius, grandparents Jim and Phyllis Beckius, grandmother Arlene Johansen, aunt and uncle Gary and Dawn Johansen, and uncle Steve Johansen, aunt and uncle Marsha and Rex Reece.
Jesse is preceded in death by his grandfather Fred Johansen.
A service will be held Saturday Aug. 3, 2013, at 10 a.m. at the Farnum Holt Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. In Lieu of flowers a donation can be made in Jesse’s name at US Bank in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. All proceeds will be donated to an organization to help veterans and their families.
