John Rodney Praetor (Sep. 09, 1948 – Jan. 15, 2017)

John, 68, died in Delta Jan. 15, 2017. He was born Sept. 9, 1948, in Illinois and graduated high school in Pueblo before joining the U.S. Navy. He served honorably in the Vietnam War.

John lived in Glenwood Springs for 20 years. With Flo Rockwood he operated Cheapside Used Furniture on Grand Avenue. We was often with one of his bulldogs: Sarge, Honey Buns, Moby, Lilly, and Bogey.

John retired to Delta and enjoyed doing carpentry and collecting. At the end of his life he struggled with emphysema. He was a talented, creative individual whose company will be dearly missed.

John was preceded in death by his beloved Grandmother Jackie, mother Sally, and brother Bob. He is survived by his father, Rodney, sister, Gay, and dear friends, Flo Rockwood, John “Ruskie” Grosholz, Bonnie Strong and Emily “Big E” Strong.
