Josephine Jane King

Josephine Jane (Smith) King went home to Heaven on May 10, 2016. She was 86. Josephine (Jo) was born January 27, 1930 in Sandpoint, Idaho to Ezra and Madie Simms. She was one of thirteen children, all preceded her in death. She lived most of her life in the Rifle area. On August 17, 1946, she married Norbert Raymond Smith. They had three children-Judy (Bob) Gordon, Jim (Wendy) Smith, and Kathy Wear. Norbert preceded her in death on May 11, 1995. On December 31, 1997, she married AC King. Her family expanded to include two step-sons, Steve and Jim King, and one step-daughter Cindy (Carlos) Veal.

She loved and enjoyed her family. She had 16 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren, 2 step-great grandchildren and 13 great, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She enjoyed cooking, fishing, knitting and growing beautiful flowers. She was a friend to many people.

Services for Josephine will be held Tuesday, May 17, at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church, New Castle, Colorado.
