Larry G. Hood

Larry Glenn Hood, the son of Edwin and Zelma Pauline (Strader) Hood, was born Aug. 30, 1962, at Charleston, Illinois, and died on July 19, 2013, at Jewell County Hospital, Mankato, Kansas, at the age of 50 years, 10 months, and 19 days.

Larry moved with his family to New Castle, Colorado, where he attended Elementary School and Rifle Colorado High School. He served in the United States Air Force. After his service, Larry married Lisa Long. They were divorced. Larry also had worked for Rose Pork Producers of Ionia, Kansas, and was a carpenter with Jerry Ells in Mankato.

Larry was preceded in death by his mother, Pauline. He is survived by his father, Edwin Hood, of Mankato, Kansas; four sisters: RaDonna Mister of Hastings, Nebraska, Sandra and husband, Ron York of Clifton, Colorado, CharAnn and husband, Bill Flippo of Hopkins, South Carolina, and Maria Isabel of Superior, Nebraska; and host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

The family requested cremation services, and will have a memorial service in Illinois at a later date. The remains will be buried beside his mother in Illinois.
