LeRoy E Fender

LeRoy E. Fender, 76, of Deming, New Mexico, formerly of Carbondale, Colorado, died suddenly Sunday, Nov. 16 at his home in Deming.

LeRoy was born to Eddis L. and Olla G.(Jacobs) Fender of Carbondale, Colorado, Feb. 27, 1938 at Dr. Porter’s Hospital on Missouri Heights. He graduated from Roaring Fork High School class of 1955.

LeRoy drove the miner’s bus for Mid-Continent Coal for many years and Harry’s Heavy Haulers before retiring in 2004. When LeRoy retired he wasn’t quite ready to give up the road, he purchased a fifth wheel and commenced driving for fun and adventure, eventually settling in Deming.

LeRoy was always quick to make friends and had many all around the country.

LeRoy is survived by his Life Partner of 33 years Sherry Pryor; brother David (Pam) Fender of Pueblo,Colorado; daughter Tammy Fender of Grand Junction, Colorado; daughter Tina Fender of Clifton, Colorado; daughter Tanya (Fender) LaBossiere of Cedaredge, Colorado; adopted daughter Victoria (Fender) Johnson of Gunnisson, Colorado; adopted son Wallie Fender of Delta, Colorado; adopted son Greg Fender; step-daughter Cindy (Pryor)Pratt of Ft. Collins, Colorado; step-daughter Linda Pryor of Glenwood Springs, Colorado; and step-daughter Paula (Pryor)Larsen of Kewaunee, Wisconsin. LeRoy was blessed with many grandchildren and great-grand children.

LeRoy will be dearly missed by family and friends alike. No services are planned at this time.
