Liesa Nadell

Born in Munich, Germany, July 9, 1933, Liesa grew up during World War II. Leaving the war behind, she immigrated to America at 17, alone and not knowing anyone.

Sponsored by a family in Chicago, she settled there. She then helped a friend, Frank Nadell Sr., immigrate. They later married and had two sons, Frank and James.

Her children grown, Liesa headed west looking for a new home, settling in El Jebel.

Her sons followed and having the family together brought her joy.

Liesa’s life experiences made her a strong, independent person. She was adventurous, very caring and loving, a great mother, and a true friend.

She is survived by her sons Frank (Margaret), Jimmy (Pach), grandson Henry (Frank), brother Bill (Diane) Regens, Champaign, IL., nephew Christopher Regens, San Francisco, CA, niece Marcy (Orvie) Stoneking, Glenrock WY, niece Kerstin Smith, nephew Jason (Debbie) Smith, and 7 great nieces and nephews. Her sister Christine Smith, Glenrock,WY, preceded her in death.

The family expresses our deep gratitude to the caregivers at Heritage Park Care Center.

There will be a service for her at St. Mary’s of the Crown, Carbondale, January 10, 2015, 12pm.
