Linda M. Rivera

After a long courageous battle with cancer, Linda M. Rivera, 67, of Silt passed away March 20, 2015, in her home surrounded by family and loved ones. Linda was born on January 17, 1948 in Alameda, CA., and was raised by Glenn Allen Porter and Ivy Elizabeth (Hills) Porter. Linda has been a long time resident of Colorado for many years, and spent her life raising her three children, as well as two grand-children (whom she considered as her own), and also enjoyed spoiling her great granddaughter to the fullest. She spent her days working as a Nutrition Specialist in City Market, and made tons of amazing friends during the years there. She was United in Holy Matrimony to PierGiorgio Rivera on August 17, 1994, in Redstone, CO. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband PierGiorgio Rivera of Silt, CO., son Michael Jewkes of Carbondale, CO., daughter Heidi Jewkes of Pueblo, CO., daughter Connie Menear of Kingwood, WV., daughter/grand-daughter Patricia Jones of Silt, CO., and son/grand-son LeNiga Layton of Silt, CO., as well as eight grand-children, and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, and son-in-law Mikayl Jones. Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life will be held on April 26, 2015 at 3 p.m. at the Silt Recreation Center in Silt, CO.
