Lloyd Edward Nickerson

Lloyd Edward Nickerson of Carbondale, Colorado, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2016, after battling Parkinson’s disease and dementia for many years. He was the New Year’s Baby of 1929 in Detroit, Michigan, and later moved to Colorado, where he resided for over 48 years.

A loving father, he is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Dee & Mike Fisher; his son, Kevin Nickerson; his 7 grandchildren, his 11 great-grandchildren; as well as his extended family, loving friends and other close family members. He was preceded in death by two of his children, Russell Nickerson and Karen Frazier.

He was a member of the Sonlight Foursquare Church and dedicated himself to our Lord Jesus Christ. He loved helping people, whether it was fixing something, being the chauffeur, or just sitting with those in need he continued to help others even after retiring from Holy Cross Energy in 2010.

He will be in our hearts forever and greatly missed. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Farnum Holt Funeral Home on Monday, March 14. Graveside services for Lloyd will be at White Hill Cemetery in Carbondale on Tuesday, March 15th, at 11:00 AM where he will be laid to rest.

In lieu of flowers, please contribute to the American Parkinson Disease Association or your favorite charity in his name. That’s who he was!
