Marie 0. Nolle

Marie passed away April 13, 2014, at her home in Glenwood Springs. She was born in Astoria, NY on Oct. 10, 1928 to Ernest W. Schmidt and Matilda (Sauter) Schmidt. Marie grew up in Astoria on the same block as her beloved husband John. They married May 21,1950 in Queens, NY.

They lived in Massapequa, NY until they moved to Glenwood Springs, Colo. in 1989, to be near their daughter, Janet, and her family.

Marie was a much loved and recognized volunteer for 18 years at Valley View Hospital. True to who she was, she felt she received more than she gave.

Marie was nominated for many awards for her service at the Hospital. She was an active member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

Marie was an awesome cook, an avid hockey fan, and she loved to fish and play the slots.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, John Nolle. Marie is survived by her daughter, Janet Nolle Mineo, son-in-law Bob Mineo of Carbondale; grandsons Matthew and Corey Mineo; niece Barbara (Chris) Euell; grandnieces Shannon and Kelsey Euell; grandnephew Ryan Euell of Long Island, NY and longtime family friend Deb Hill of Glenwood Springs as well as many loving friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Glenwood Springs.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to be made to the Valley Hospital Auxiliary or to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
