Marjorie Ann Lackey

Marjorie Ann Lackey passed in the night after a furious battle with Multiple Myeloma.

She was a loving mother, awesome grandmother, great sister and adoring wife. She was born to Otis and Irma Snooks in Durango, where she spent her childhood with her sister Shirley (Donna, spouse) and brother Howard. She attended college at Western State earning both a Bachelors in Accounting and a Masters in Business Management. This is where she met her husband Charles Lackey, who states “she kept the family together.” After a brief time in California they returned to Colorado finally settling in Carbondale where they lived and raised their children Lee Ann and Ray. Professionally she was an accountant who worked for years at Berthod Motors.

She was also an active participant in a local sorority where she made many wonderful friends. After retirement she and her husband moved to Bullhead City, Arizona, where she learned to give money to the casinos with great efficiency. A couple of her great joys are her grandchildren Kim and Eli.

Services will be held at the Pine River Cemetery in Bayfield, Colorado, on Saturday, November 7th, at 10:00 am. A reception will follow at the Comfort Inn in Durango. In lieu of flowers the Animas Museum would benefit from your benevolence.
