Muriel Mae Stewart (December 9, 1921 — October 7, 2018)

Muriel Mae Stewart, 96, of Rifle, passed away October 7, 2018.

Memorial Services will be held on October 19, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at the Rifle Funeral Home.

Muriel was born at the home of Floyd and Lula Miles of Antlers, Colorado, on December 9, 1921. She attended Antlers School and went to High School in Rifle. She married Bill Stewart in February 1944 and later separated in 1971.

Muriel worked for Pepsi and Worland Electric in Worland, Wyoming, for several years. Then for Holiday Inn in Honolulu, Hawaii, and several small jobs before entering the Colorado V.A. Nursing Home in Rifle, Colorado. Muriel loved hunting, camping, fishing, riding horses, bowling, dancing, baseball and Denver Broncos. She was a member of the Ginger Cookie Band.

Muriel was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Lula Miles; spouse, Bill Stewart; aunts and uncles. Muriel is survived by sons Douglas M. (Kim) Stewart, and Donald (Cindy) Stewart; grandsons, Douglas J. (Kirsten) Stewart, and Matthew J. Stewart; and 7 great-grandchildren.

The family of Muriel would like to extend our sincere Thanks to the Colorado Veterans’ Nursing Home and their wonderful and loving staff.
