Obituary: John H Antonelli

John H. Antonelli passed away Feb. 18, 2020 at the Rifle Veterans Nursing Home. He was born Sept. 29, 1927 to August and Theresa (Bendetti) Antonelli, farmers of Silt Mesa Colorado. He is preceded in death by his two sisters Mary Ellen and Katherine, and his wife Betty Savage, who was the love of his life. He is survived by sisters DeDe Zarlingo, Lois Jewell and Patsy Noel as well as brothers Bob, Larry, Pat and Tom. He was in the U.S. Army from 1952-54 where he was able to visit much of the extended family in Italy while stationed in Germany. He enjoyed those visits and they left him with great memories. He was also a gifted mechanic and worked at the Ford Garage in Rifle for many years. He loved cars and enjoyed repairing them. He was loving gentle man and will be missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and family. There will be a Catholic Mass to be held at the Rifle Catholic Church at a later date. Any donations can be made to the Rifle Veterans Nursing Home.
