August 19, 1937 – December 8, 2024

Leslie Warren Jewell passed away quietly, surrounded by his family, on December 8, 2024 at the Rifle Health Care Center.
He was born August 19, 1937 in Rifle, Colorado to Les and Janey Jewell. He attended Antlers School and helped his parents on their sheep ranch. He married Gloria Sours in 1961 and the couple had three children; Debbie Jewell (Laudick), Howard Jewell and Duane Jewell, all of Rifle, Colorado.
Gloria passed away in February of 2000, and Warren then married Lois Antonelli (Jewell). They had many wonderful adventures together making precious memories. One adventure they looked forward to every winter, was traveling with their brother/brother-in-law and sister-in-law Larry and Glenda Antonelli in their motor homes.
Warren was a very gentle and kind man who loved his friends, family and the great outdoors, especially the Flat-Tops. He was a sheep rancher, herder, hunter and enjoyed playing baseball. He loved visiting and having coffee with all his friends. He was a gifted storyteller. Even though some were true and others embellished, people always loved to listen to his stories. He fixed many miles of fence in his life-time and always ate bologna, chips and hot Pepsi.
He will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his children Debbie, Duane, Howard (Karen), wife Lois and her eight children, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren who loved their PaPa and sister Ruth Jewell (Elder).
Memorial services will be held at Highland Elementary, in Rifle, at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 14, 2024. Refreshments to follow. Internment will be later this summer.
We would also like to express our great appreciation for the wonderful care Warren received from all the Nurses, CNA and staff at Grand River Care Center.
