August 7, 1934 – November 4, 2025

Lois “Lolo” Gabossi, 91, of Glenwood Springs, Colorado, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 4, 2025. She passed peacefully at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Val and Bob Imondi, where she had been living.

She was born in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, on August 7, 1934, the daughter of the late Jack and Vi Arnold. Born prematurely in her Grandma Muirhead’s home—so tiny she fit in a dresser drawer for a crib—Lois started life as a fighter. Her resilience and strength carried her throughout her 91 years.

Active in school as a cheerleader with a lively imagination and a flair for acting, she often found creative ways to get class dismissed—with her younger sister sometimes roped into the fun!

Lois met, dated, and married the love of her life, Victor Gabossi, on April 14, 1958. They were married 65 years before his passing. Together they raised three children: Vikki Vawn, Vance Thomas, and Valerie Kay.

In their early years, determined to move Vic out of the coal mining trade, the couple returned near her family while Vic attended cosmetology school. Lois worked and cared for their firstborn, Vikki, during that time. After Vic earned his license, they moved back to Glenwood Springs, where he opened his own shop and later ran a small mall.

Lois shared his entrepreneurial spirit and opened her own antique shop. A devoted wife, mother, and friend, she also cooked for miners, participated in church groups, and was the “chief cook and bottle washer” at many family and employee gatherings.

The family cabin on the Flat Tops became a cherished getaway, filled with laughter, fishing, and memories. They also loved trips to Lake Powell for boating, skiing, and family adventures. Holidays—especially Christmas—were big, joyful occasions in the Gabossi household.

Lois was a talented cook, canner, candy maker, and crafter, always sharing her creations with loved ones. She was famous for her disposable camera snapshots—always printed in duplicate so she could make her signature photo cards with cut-out faces! Her photo collections and keepsakes were treasures she loved to share whenever someone visited.

Lolo was a ray of sunshine—her warmth and humor touched everyone she met. No matter how she felt, if you asked, she was always “fit as a fiddle.”

In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Victor Gabossi, and her son, Vance Gabossi.

She is survived by:

Daughter Vikki Lensing; granddaughter Dessa Cairns; great-grandson Chance Mobley
Daughter-in-law Linda Gabossi; grandson Kody (Erin) Gabossi; granddaughter Breanne (Rick) Zatarain; great-granddaughter Hazel Zatarain
Daughter Valerie (Bob) Imondi; grandson Victor Imondi; great-granddaughters Shy and Faith Imondi;
Robert (Chelsey) Imondi and great grand twins Parker and Zoey; Ryan (Ashley) Imondi; great-grandchildren Mila and Enzo Imondi
Siblings Donna Avers; Boyd (Maureen) Arnold; and Jackie (David) Berry

A Celebration of Life will be held in May 2026.

In lieu of gifts, donations may be made to Abode Hospice in her honor.

We will miss her “A bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck.”
