Obituary: Sheila Cunningham-Breed

On September 1, 2023 Sheila Cunningham-Breed suddenly passed away. Sheila was born August of 1957 in Edina, Minnesota. In 1969, Sheila and her family moved to Kansas City, where she spent the remainder of her childhood. When Sheila was in her early 20’s she moved to Boulder CO and then in the mid 90’s she moved to the Roaring Fork Valley where she would eventually meet her husband, Pat Breed. They married on September 7, 1996 and spent the next 27 years happily exploring life together.
Sheila is preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Robert Cunningham her sister, Martha Cunningham and her brother, Robert Cunningham. Sheila is survived by her husband Pat, stepdaughters, Caitlin (Jesse) and Kristin, her sister, Carol Coughlin, her brother, Paul (Kathy) Cunningham and her nieces and nephews.
Undeniable is Sheila’s kindness and her ability to lighten the hearts of all in her presence. Sheila’s love for life was contagious. She found good in everything and everyone. Her fiery sense of humor made everyone around her feel at ease. Sheila loved walking and hiking with her dogs and dancing to live music with her family and friends. Sheila was deeply loved by many and those who shared a dance with her feel lucky to have had her in their lives.

A Celebration of life for Sheila will be held at the Blue Lake Gazebo and park by the lake, on October 7, 2023 at 2pm. BBQ provided, bring a camping chair and BYOB. Parking will be available across the street at Blue Lake preschool.
