Ro Mead’s celebration is today

A celebration of life for Ro Mead will be held from 3-7 p.m. today at the Carbondale Recreation Center.

It is planned to be a community event commemorating the extraordinary life and exceptional contribution that Ro made over the past 40 years to her beloved Carbondale community. She died in October of pancreatic cancer at age 78.

Anyone interested in volunteering to help, please contact any of the following people to sign up for a variety of tasks.

Set up and take down of decorations, tables, chairs, etc. Volunteers needed before and after event. Contact Mark Taylor at

Monetary contributions may also be made to Carbondale Council on Arts and Humanities for a Ro Mead scholarship and/or the traveling art classroom bus “Rosie Belle.”
