Shannon Jay Bascom

Shannon Jay Bascom, 44, of Rifle, Colorado, passed away unexpectedly on the June 20, 2016. Shannon was an artist, electrician, ranch caretaker and worked in construction. He was known to be a jack of all trades. One of his favorite hobbies was painting. He was always providing a helping hand to anyone. Shannon is survived by his wife, Janelle; his 4 children; Brianna, Andrew, Hayley and Carrie; Granddaughter, Emalyn Payan; his father, Ned Bascom and step-mother Beth Bascom; mother, Kay Prewitt; siblings, Troy Bascom and Heidi Bascom and numerous other extended family members. He is preceded in death by his twin brother, Shane Ray Bascom (1997), and his step-sister, Shannon Marie Bascom (2003).

He will be remembered for his humor, brightening presence, his hard work and his wisdom.

A memorial service will be held at the Rifle Elks Lodge, June 25, 2016 staring at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers an account has been set up at Wells Fargo Bank to help Shannon’s family. Donations are graciously appreciated at this time.
